Yellow Red Blue, final sound piece

Image
What drew me towards Yellow Red Blue by Wassily Kandinsky was the abstractions that he used to create a piece that doesn't (on the surface at least) reflect any real world scenarios or events. I thought this would be the best painting to explore how feelings of enlightenment or serenity would sound like as the other paintings felt too boxed in with what their artists were depicting and therefore restricted what I could make as an experimental sound piece. What I ended up with tells the chemical narrative you experience when you take drugs. You start with the calming effect but then your mind starts to ques...

I found myself overanalysing the way people who I am not as close to now were acting in the footage and seeing if I could see early warning signs of their shifting opinions of me. It caused my perspective of happy memories to sour, simply by overthinking how people were reacting to my presence and contributions. To portray this feeling of anxiety altering memories I decided to repeat the same routine of walking in and out of a room 4 times and capture my housemates candid and genuine reactions to my peculiar behav...
