Have We Been Here Before?
For my experimental film regarding time I wanted to portray how memories can be altered by overanalysing the nuances of an experience. By changing a memory, it could be argued that you have altered time itself as you are changing your perspective of past events and letting the effects of overthinking a memory affect you in the present. I got the inspiration for this concept by feeling anxious when I was editing footage I had filmed of me and my friends during summer. I found myself overanalysing the way people who I am not as close to now were acting in the footage and seeing if I could see early warning signs of their shifting opinions of me. It caused my perspective of happy memories to sour, simply by overthinking how people were reacting to my presence and contributions.
